Our Fitting Process

Fit Right NW sales associates perform a complimentary video gait analysis for every new customer! This process allows the sales associate to accurately determine the mechanics of your walking or running stride, focusing on the heel contact, mid-stance and toe-off phase of the gait cycle. After videotaping your stride, the sales associate can replay the video so that you can see for yourself how your feet function dynamically. Gait analysis has proven successful in identifying a customer’s ideal support category.

Following the video analysis, the sales associate will measure your foot length and width using a Brannock device, the industry standard for a hundred years. Next, the sales associate will perform a subjective evaluation to determine volume, identify pressure points, and identify individual problems such as bunions or black toenails.

Finally, the sales associate will have you put on a shoe, check a series of points to ensure a proper fit, and ask you to perform a shoe test run. The test run allows you to evaluate the overall comfort and fit of a shoe outdoors and on our in-store treadmills.

Upon completion of the fitting process, Fit Right NW will give you 30 days to run or walk in your shoes. If you provide us with your email address, our customer service representative will also follow up (in store purchases only) with you within 30 days of your purchase to make sure that the product is working out well for you. If you’re not 100 percent satisfied, you are welcome to come back and exchange your shoes.
